What is Safety Score?

To help you understand and improve your driving behaviour, we calculate a weekly Safety Score for you to reflect and learn about your driving behaviour.

Safety Score integrates driving behaviours into a single measurement, with a maximum score of 100. You should aim for a score between 80 - 100 each week. If you get a lower score, check out the safety factors to see where you can improve. If you haven’t driven enough to be evaluated, your weekly safety score will not be shown.

The major contributors to your safety score include the maneuvering of the vehicle and the usage of safety features such as Advanced Driver-Assistance systems (ADAS) and seatbelt.

Safety Factors

Assisted driving

Using ADAS functionalities such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Aid and Pilot Assist will support you and make your driving safer. More proper ADAS function usage and compliance to warnings will lead to a higher score.

Safe distance

Keeping safe distance to vehicles in front of you provides you with the necessary time to react to sudden decelerations or other complicated situation that needs manoeuvring. You can get support in keeping a safe distance by using Adaptive Cruise Control or Distance Alert (if available in your vehicle). Keeping safe distance will lead to high score.

Lane keeping

Good lane position makes you a safer driver and makes the road safer to others. Good lane positioning and using indicators whenever you change lane will lead to higher score. You can get lane keeping support by having Lane Keeping Aid active and by using Pilot Assist on roads with clear lane markings. If you are not in a healthy condition to drive, unable to focus on driving or you drive when feeling fatigue, it might also result in poor lane positioning. Take a break from driving as soon as it is suitable will lessen the negative impact on your score.

Seatbelt usage

Wearing a seatbelt at all time is crucial to safety. It protects you if you would end up in an accident. Always using the seatbelt when the vehicle is in motion will lead to higher score.
